5-7 years minimum

Functional Responsibility

Position Description/Tasks to be Performed:

Should have at least five to seven years of technical writing and business analysis experience. Will be responsible for documenting Strategic Business Requirements, Systems Requirements Specifications and other artifacts pertaining to the statement of work.

  • Analyze existing processes, legacy systems, applications, and databases to support requirements development
  • Develop and document business requirements for future software development project.
  • Develop documentation that conforms to the agency’s SDLC template requirements
  • Facilitate dialogue between agency staff to build consensus when perceived requirements are in conflict or are mutually exclusive
  • Document results of ongoing dialogue and finalize in a functional requirements work product
  • Participate in meetings as directed: prepare agenda; keep minutes or notes, issues and action items; prepare and distribute related documentation

Skills Required/Essential to perform the work:

  • Experience developing and documenting business/functional requirements
  • Experience developing and documenting software requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and to self-direct

 

Additional Desired Skills/Pluses:

  • Prior experience in an HHS agency
  • Experience with HL7 a HUGE plus

Minimum Education

BA/BS degree or higher
